Phil Cothran is a life-long Fontana resident, successful business owner, and philanthropist whose deep affection for his community is apparent through his extensive community service and volunteerism. His State Farm insurance agency has also ranked #1 consistently in its division and is one of the most well-known and respected insurance agencies in the region. 

He has also actively served on the San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board the past 25 years, working to improve access to workforce development resources for workers and business. Phil Cothran has donated his valuable time and expertise to other boards and commissions, including: President of the Fontana Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Miss Fontana Organization, Chairman of the Auto Club Speedway Checkered Flag Club, Chairman of the Personal Insurance Federation PAC in Sacramento, Membership Director for West End Gun Club, Chaffey College Foundation, Chairman of the Inland Empire Business Alliance, Past President of the Fontana Historical Society, Past President of the Fontana Rotary Club, Past President of the Fontana YMCA,  Chairman of the SBGOP, and Hospitality Director for Water of Life Community Church. 

Phil Cothran has been married to his wife Lena Cothran for over 40 years, and they have four wonderful children and ten grandchildren.
